A Tribute to a man with a Dream!
This multi level museum will take you through the years of Pierre Cardin from the late 1950’s to today. You will be surrounded by rooms filled with mannequins dressed in some of his most inventive creations. The woman who takes care of the museum will be there to answer all of your questions. She has been working with Cardin since the age of 14 and has followed him throughout the years. You will learn how he started from nothing and made himself into what he is today.
Did you know that Pierre Cardin is 95 today and is still actively designing?! Our guide told us that he lives next to his workshops which are located next to the Elysees. Sometimes he gets up in the morning and goes over in his pyjamas to check out what is happening!
Not only Clothing
As you learn about how Cardin started and also learn that his family were immigrants from Italy, you realise that if you have a dream, it can come true! The museum also has a nice collection of some of the furniture that he designed throughout the years. His lacquer drawers and desks show the influence that Japan had on him so many years ago.
